Updating your TLS browser security settings (MS IE9, IE10 and IE11)

To access Crown Audit websites, your browser needs to support a stronger internet security protocol known as 'TLS 1.2'. The change is quite simple - you may be able to make this change yourself or you may need to ask your IT support service to help make this change for you. These notes are just for Microsoft Internet Explorer 9, 10 and 11 browsers.*

First, look for the browser settings, tools or options 'gear' icon in the upper-left:
If you can't see this icon, it's time to call your support team!

Next, look for 'Internet options' on the menu.
When the options dialog box opens, look for the 'Advanced' tab at the top and click to open that tab:
If you can't see this tab, it's time to call your support team!

Scroll down the list of 'settings' all the way to the bottom and make sure 'Use TLS 1.2' is ticked. You can leave the other options alone.
If you can't see these settings, or they cannot be clicked, it's time to call your support team!

Now save this change and fully restart your PC if possible.

Check the setting has been saved by repeating these steps to see if the setting is still there.
If it has been cleared, it's time to call your support team! They might have to make this change for you.

The next time you visit the login pages, the security warning should have been cleared.

You only have to make this change once. If you still get a sign-in warning, check the setting has been saved and ask your IT support service for help.

If you are in any doubt about this change or need help, please contact your own IT/Computer support service for independent help and advice.

Note: This change is necessary to improve internet security to protect your audit data and any other internet sites you may visit.

* If you need to update other browsers such as Chrome, Safari or Firefox please contact your support team.
